Be Active
Get out and about in West Fife
It’s a wonderful thing to BE ACTIVE. It is linked to optimal wellbeing, supporting both physical and mental health. Exercise and movement invigorate the body, enhancing physical health by improving muscle strength, boosting cardiovascular health, and overall energy levels. Beyond these benefits are the important effects on mental health. Exercise and increased movement release endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators, helping to reduce symptoms of anxiety and/or depression, whilst engaging in physical activity also offers opportunities for mindfulness, which helps us to anchor ourselves in the present moment. This all has the potential to bring a sense of harmony to the body and mind.
From following historical pilgrim routes to modern walking routes, cycling trails, to gardening, restoration and conservation projects, Dunfermline and West Fife is full of opportunities to BE ACTIVE.
